RENEWABLE ENERGY CONFERENCE
C.O.R.E. 2010 –“CORRIDOR OF RENEWABLE ENERGY”
Nevada-Oregon Partnership
APRIL 29-30, 2010

The Humboldt-Pershing Sustainable Development (“HPSD”) of Northern Nevada and the Klamath/Lake County Renewable Energy Working Group of South Central Oregon are pleased to announce their first joint event- “C.O.R.E. (Corridor Of Renewable Energy) 2010.”

Sharlet Berentsen- Chairman, HPSD has confirmed the event dates and location to be April 29-30, 2010 at the Winnemucca (Humboldt County, NV) Convention Center. Registration fee for the two-day event is $50, and includes lunches and Chamber-hosted Mixers both days.

The “C.O.R.E 2010” Conference will bring together interested individuals, professionals and organizations with a vested interest in renewable energy, from Northern Nevada, Southern Oregon and Idaho to share, exchange and learn more about the renewable energy efforts and resources in their communities.

Guest speakers will provide the latest information on renewable energy topics including Wind, Solar, Biomass, and Geothermal energy sources.

Business and individuals alike can learn more about renewable energy and its benefits to potentially lower energy costs and create diverse economic opportunities within their communities.

Klamath/Lake Counties has deemed itself Oregon’s most renewable counties and Humboldt –Pershing Counties are the location of important geothermal, wind and other renewable energy sources. The two regions coincidentally also share an historical partnership as it was originally cited as the “Winnemucca to the Sea” corridor .

Earlier last year, both rural regions realized their common goals of prioritizing renewable energy as a pathway to offer new economic opportunities for their communities.

HPSD and Conference Chair Sharlet Berentsen says “the event goals are numerous: We are extending the invitation to business and private sectors as well as bringing together Humboldt , Pershing and Klamath/Lake Counties’ renewable energy organizations to raise renewable energy awareness. We will feature expert guest speakers from the top levels of the renewable energy fields. We have already had much interest expressed by vendors and political officials from both States.

We offer a Corridor transcending State & political boundaries that are rich in Renewable Energy resources. We also have the land base and the rural “can do attitude”- a winning formula.”

On Friday, April 30, the Conference will offer a tour of a nearby Geothermal Project located near Winnemucca- a source of renewal energy already on line and serving Northern Nevada.
